Advisor and angel investor at the intersection of XR, AI, wearables and interactive entertainment. Barcelona.
The interesting work now sits between four things that are usually built separately: XR, AI, wearables, and interactive entertainment.
The platforms went all in on headsets, then all in on AI, and never joined the two. That gap is where the next decade comes from, and almost nobody is building across it.
I spent a decade inside this industry, eight years of it at PICO XR, where I founded the European business, ran it through the ByteDance acquisition, and later built the enterprise line across EMEA and the US. I watched platform money create a generation of studios and then watched it disappear. That is the pattern I am most useful for spotting.
Some of this is paid work with a defined scope. The rest is equity, where I get paid when the company does. Either way I only take on things I would defend in public.
Where I am useful: European market entry, hardware and platform partnerships, go-to-market for companies moving from prototype to commercial, and the specific question of how an early company avoids becoming dependent on money that can vanish in a quarter.
Small angel cheques alongside, usually where I am already advising.
PICO XR, 2017 to 2025. Joined as one of the first international employees, opened the European office in Barcelona three months later, and spent a year running it alone before incorporating and hiring. The team was close to a dozen people when ByteDance acquired PICO in 2021 for $1.3 billion. Launched PICO as a consumer brand in Europe, hired 20+ people in nine months, shipped PICO 4 across 20+ markets and sold six figures of units inside a year. Moved to enterprise in 2023 across EMEA and the US.
Virtually Live, VR social sports. Sony Computer Entertainment America, six years in strategy and consumer insight, including product evaluation work on PS4, PSVR and PS Vita TV. Berkeley Haas. Before all of it, a contract archaeologist in the Potomac valley, which is still the job that best explains how I think about the past being worth rebuilding.
